Discovering Salerno
I have developed the Discovering Salerno mobile app and corresponding website.
Discovering Salerno is a multilingual tourist app available on the Google Play Store (+1000 downloads and 31 positive reviews) and Apple Store.
Built using Flutter, the app provides information about the most beautiful places in Salerno, recommends typical dishes, and showcases various means of transportation within the city. I took charge of the UI and UX design, including creating the app’s logo and designing all graphics used in the web page and app stores.

Discovering Salerno is a comprehensive tourist application designed to enhance the visitor experience in Salerno, Italy. It comprises a mobile app available on the Google Play Store and Apple Store for both iOS and Android devices, along with a corresponding website built on WordPress. The project aimed to provide tourists with a user-friendly digital guide to Salerno, offering information on the city’s attractions, local cuisine, and transportation options. The app’s design, including the creation of its logo and graphics for web and app stores, was a significant part of this endeavor.
What was the goal of the project?
The primary goal of the Discovering Salerno project was to create a versatile and multilingual offline tourism application that could serve as a valuable resource for travelers exploring Salerno. Key objectives included:
Information Hub: To provide tourists with detailed information about Salerno’s most beautiful places of interest, helping them plan their visits effectively.
Culinary Guide: To recommend and introduce tourists to the region’s typical dishes and culinary experiences, enriching their cultural immersion.
Transportation Assistance: To offer insights into the various means of transportation available within Salerno, ensuring convenience and ease of movement for visitors.
User-Friendly Design: To prioritize an intuitive user interface (UI) and a positive user experience (UX) through thoughtful design, including the creation of a distinctive app logo and graphics for promotional purposes.
Project execution
The project was executed by leveraging a range of technologies and tools. Mobile app development was carried out using Android Studio, Xcode, and Flutter, ensuring compatibility with both Android and iOS devices. The app integrated features such as Google Map API for location-based services and Firebase for backend support, including Crashlytics for error tracking. Data handling involved the use of XML formats to provide up-to-date information to users.
The web component of the project was constructed on WordPress, offering a landing page with information about the app.
The design aspect of the project was managed using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, enabling the creation of an appealing and cohesive visual identity. This included designing the app’s logo and graphics used in the website and app stores.
